After connecting your pre-programmed Google ONN Streaming Device, you'll have the option to configure the remote to control your TV's Power, Volume, and Input buttons. This only takes a few minutes and only needs to be completed once.
Step 1 – Connect Your Google ONN Device
- Connect the Google ONN device to an available HDMI port on your TV.
- Connect the included USB power cable and power adapter.
- Turn your TV on and switch to the HDMI input where the ONN device is connected.
Step 2 – Pair the Remote (If Prompted)
Most ONN devices automatically pair the remote during setup.
If you're prompted to pair the remote:
- Press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the remote at the same time.
- Continue holding until the remote's indicator light begins flashing.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete pairing.
Step 3 – Enable TV Control
Once the Google TV setup is complete:
- Open Settings (gear icon in the upper-right corner).
- Select Remotes & Accessories.
- Choose Set up remote buttons.
Google TV will guide you through the setup process.
Step 4 – Select Your TV Brand
Choose your TV manufacturer from the list.
If your brand isn't listed:
- Select Other
- Follow the on-screen instructions to test compatible remote codes.
Step 5 – Test Your Remote
Google TV will ask you to test the following buttons:
- Power – Turns your TV on and off.
- Volume – Raises and lowers the TV volume.
- Input – Switches between HDMI inputs.
If a button doesn't work correctly, simply choose Try Another Code until everything functions properly.
Troubleshooting
My remote won't control my TV.
Go to:
Settings → Remotes & Accessories → Set up remote buttons
Run the setup again and choose another remote code if necessary.
My TV brand isn't listed.
Select Other and continue through the guided setup. Google TV supports many televisions even if the manufacturer isn't specifically listed.
My remote was already working but stopped controlling my TV.
Run Set up remote buttons again to reconfigure the Power, Volume, and Input controls.
