If you're getting the error message in Downloader, "There is a problem parsing the package" when trying to download an app please perform these troubleshooting steps and try again.
1. Restart Your Firestick
- Unplug your Firestick from the power source for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart.
2. Update Fire Stick Software
- Go to Settings (the gear icon) on your Fire TV homepage.
- Select My Fire TV and then About.
- Click Check for update and install any available updates.
3. Enable "Install unknown apps"
- Go to Settings on your Firestick.
- Navigate to My Fire TV > Developer options.
- Select Install unknown apps and enable it for the app you are using for installation (like the Downloader app)
4. Clear Cache for the Downloader App
- Go to Settings.
- Select Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
- Find and select the Downloader app.
- Choose Clear Cache. You can also try clearing data if the error persists.
